Best Practices
Match Your Location
Set formats that match your country's conventions. This makes data easier to read at a glance.
Match Your Tax Records
If your accountant expects dates in a specific format, match that here for consistent reporting.
Set Timezone Accurately
Incorrect timezone settings can cause transactions to appear on wrong dates, especially around midnight.
Common Questions
Do these settings affect my data? No, they only affect how data is displayed. Your underlying data remains unchanged.
Will my reports use these formats? Yes, exported reports will use your selected date and number formats.
What if I change settings mid-year? Historical data will display in the new format. The actual dates and values don't change.
Does timezone affect when transactions are recorded? Yes. If you add a transaction at 11pm on March 15th, it's recorded as March 15th in your timezone. If your timezone is wrong, it might appear on a different date.
