Does Trader Node Connect to My Prop Firm or Broker?
No — and that's by design.
Trader Node does not connect to your prop firm accounts, your broker, your bank, or any third-party financial service. There are no API integrations, no login credentials to hand over, and no background syncing happening behind the scenes.
Why We Built It This Way
Connecting to external accounts requires storing your credentials or routing your data through third-party services. That means your sensitive financial information — account balances, trading activity, bank details — lives on servers you don't control.
We didn't think that tradeoff was worth it, especially at this stage. Prop firms don't offer standardized APIs, data formats vary wildly between firms, and the risk of misclassified transactions (like a refund being logged as income) creates more problems than the automation solves.
Instead, Trader Node gives you full control. You enter what you want to share, when you want to share it, and nothing more. Your prop firm credentials stay with you. Your bank login stays with you.
How You Get Data Into Trader Node
There are a few ways to add your data without needing any external connections:
Manual entry lets you log transactions, payouts, challenge costs, and expenses directly. It takes a few minutes and gives you complete control over categorization and accuracy.
Statement imports allow you to upload broker statements (CSV, PDF) for your private accounts. The system parses the file and extracts balances, deposits, and withdrawals — no login credentials required.
Both methods keep your data accurate, properly categorized, and entirely under your control.
Will This Change in the Future?
We're always exploring ways to make data entry faster without sacrificing accuracy or privacy. Any future integrations will be built with the same principle: your data, your control. We won't add a feature that compromises the trustworthiness of your financial picture just to save a few clicks.
