Using the Unified Business Activity View

The Transactions page can optionally show a unified view of all financial activity across your entire trading business—not just general transactions, but also entries from Challenges, Funded Accounts, and Private Accounts.

What Is the Unified View?

The unified view combines:

  • General income and expenses (from Transactions)

  • Challenge costs (from Challenges)

  • Payouts and refunds (from Funded Accounts)

  • Deposits and withdrawals (from Private Accounts)

Everything in one place for a complete picture of your cash flow.

Why Use the Unified View?

Complete Visibility

See every dollar that moved in or out of your trading business, regardless of which module created the entry.

Easier Reconciliation

When reviewing bank statements, you can see all activity in one list instead of switching between modules.

Better Reporting

Understand total cash flow without mentally combining numbers from different areas.

Period Analysis

Filter by date range to see everything that happened in a specific week, month, or quarter.

How to Enable the Unified View

  1. Navigate to Transactions

  2. Look for a view toggle or switch (e.g., "Show All Activity" or "Unified View")

  3. Enable the option

  4. The table will now show entries from all modules

What You'll See

With unified view enabled, the table includes:

Type

Source

Example

Income

Transactions

"Consulting payment"

Expense

Transactions

"TradingView subscription"

Challenge Cost

Challenges

"FTMO 100K purchase"

Payout

Funded Accounts

"FTMO payout - March"

Refund

Funded Accounts

"Challenge fee refund"

Private Accounts

"IC Markets deposit"

Withdrawal

Private Accounts

"IC Markets withdrawal"

Each entry shows which module it originated from.

Read-Only for Cross-Module Entries

Important: Entries from other modules are read-only in the unified view.

You can view a challenge cost, but you can't edit it here. To edit, go to the Challenges module.

Why? Each module owns its data. The unified view is for seeing everything together, not for making changes. This prevents accidental edits and keeps data consistent.

What Doesn't Change

The unified view is purely a display option. It doesn't change:

Where Data Is Created

  • Challenge costs still come from Challenges

  • Payouts still come from Funded Accounts

  • Each module remains the source of truth

Which Module Owns the Data

  • Editing still happens in the original module

  • Deleting still happens in the original module

How Accounting Rules Are Applied

  • The ledger entries are the same

  • Calculations remain consistent

Filtering in Unified View

With more data visible, filtering becomes more important:

By Type

Filter to show only:

  • Income

  • Expenses

  • Challenge costs

  • Payouts

  • Refunds

  • Deposits/Withdrawals

By Source Module

Show only entries from:

  • Transactions

  • Challenges

  • Funded Accounts

  • Private Accounts

By Date Range

Narrow down to specific periods.

By Currency

Focus on one currency at a time.

When to Use Unified View

Monthly Reconciliation

Compare the unified list to your bank statements to ensure everything is recorded.

Cash Flow Analysis

See exactly how money moved during a period.

Preparing Reports

Review all activity before generating tax reports.

Identifying Gaps

Spot missing entries by seeing what should be there.

When to Use Default View

Day-to-Day Entry

When adding regular income and expenses, the default view is cleaner.

Focused Work

If you only need to see general transactions, the unified view adds clutter.

Most Routine Tasks

For typical usage, the default view is sufficient.

Switching Between Views

Toggle between views as needed:

  • Default: Shows only Transactions module entries

  • Unified: Shows entries from all modules

Your preference may not persist between sessions (check your settings).

Understanding the Source Column

In unified view, each row shows a "Source" indicator:

  • Transactions — General income or expense you entered

  • Challenges — Challenge cost from Challenges module

  • Funded Accounts — Payout or refund from Funded Accounts

  • Private Accounts — Deposit or withdrawal from Private Accounts

This helps you know where the entry originated and where to go if you need to edit it.

Clicking Through to Source

When viewing a cross-module entry:

  1. Click on the row to see details

  2. Look for a "View in [Module]" or "Go to Source" link

  3. Click to navigate to the original module

  4. Make any edits there

This workflow keeps data integrity while allowing easy navigation.

Common Questions

Can I edit a payout from the unified view? No. Click to view details, but editing must be done in Funded Accounts.

Why can't I delete a challenge cost here? Challenge costs belong to the Challenges module. Delete it there.

Does the unified view affect my Dashboard? No. Dashboard calculations are the same regardless of how you view Transactions.

Is there a performance impact? With many entries, the unified view may load more data. Use filters to narrow down if needed.

Can I export the unified view? Check if export is available. If so, it will include all visible entries from all modules.
